Flight/Customer Support (11/9/15)

For travel from New York to Sydney, me and my partner spent three months and at least ten hours-long call to Qantas customer service to try to get (i) confirmed seats that (ii) were next to each other. Due to a medical condition I have, I also need an aisle seat or I cannot fly. Nobody could held us with this request, and, perhaps even more frustrating the customer service personnel stated that they did not know why they couldn't accommodate this request, but did know that there was nobody else in the entire Qantas organization who could do anything for us. Even after checking in to the flight, our seat requests were not accommodated online, and additional calls to customer service were equally unavailing, each time being told that no help could be provided and they did not know why. In 20 years of international travel I have never experienced anything remotely like this. Now we don't know if we have seats, or where they might be, hours before the 21+ hour journey. In flight entertainment (4/29/14)

In March I was on the longest nonstop commercial flight in the world from Sydney to Dallas. The entertainment system did not work during the 16 hour flight meaning no movies, TV, games, radio, etc to distract you during the long flight. They didn't even apologize about it. I filed a complaint in March when I got home with Qantas and over a month later I never heard back from them. I feel that the passengers deserve some compensation for 16 hours of pure boredom. In Flight (4/29/14)
